History of Central Queen's Funeral Home

The Central Queen's Funeral Home is a co-operative venture of the people of the communities surrounding New Glasgow P.E.I.. It is owned by the Central Queen's Funeral Co-op Limited which was organized in 1988. Presently we have a membership of approximately 900.

A nine member board oversees the working and operation of the funeral home. The Central Queen's Funeral Co-op purchased an older home in New Glasgow shortly after it's inception and operated out of the building until 2003 using local churches for most wakes and funerals.

In 2002 the membership approved plans for construction of a modern new facility amid the rolling hills of New Glasgow. We moved into our new building during the summer of 2003. The Central Queen's Funeral Home offers full funeral services in a very attractive and functional building on a beautiful site with generous room for parking. Although most wakes and funerals are held in our building, we still provide services in local churches.
