Peacefully, with family by her side, the passing of Marjorie Josephine McCosham (nee
Mosher), on April 1st, 2026, at Whisperwood Villa. Age 85.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha Mosher.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Linda (Brian) Stewart, Mark (Kelly) McCosham, Cathy Hicken, Leo McCosham, Rudy McCosham, Shannon (Alfred) Cormier and families, as well as nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Left to mourn her passing are brothers Cecil and Stanley, and sisters Bertha and Betty. Predeceased by brothers Ivan, Sterling, and Preston, and sister Carol, as well as Leonard, the father of their children.
Marjorie cherished her visits from her children who doted on her and made sure she had her favourite Tim’s Steeped black tea and a Boston Creme doughnut. We could never stay long enough to suit her, and were always met with protest when it was time to leave, but we promised that we would be back soon. She enjoyed her audio books, keeping up with the news, talking about old times, and sharing a laugh. Her life hadn’t been easy, and after losing her mother at a young age, as the oldest of a large family, she learned the arts of cooking and baking early. Later in life, she enjoyed sewing, loved playing guitar and singing, and she was a great listener as we shared details of our day at school. Even as she spent the past number of years at Whisperwood Villa, she continued to give us that sense of home.
Arrangements by Southern Kings & Queen’s Funeral Home. There will be no visitation or funeral as per Marjorie’s request. There will be a graveside service at the Wood Islands cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whisperwood Villa for taking such good care of Mom.
