Jeannette Marie Gallant (nee Blacquiere) of North Rustico passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on March 6, 2026.

Jeannette knew how to care for her garden and her home, and even more so for her family: she will be remembered and will live on through the love that she gave.

She leaves behind her best friend and husband of 61 years, John Gary Gallant, her daughters Tori Doucette (Leith Doucette) and Rochelle Gallant (Steve MacGillivray) and her grandchildren Samantha Doucette, Dominique Arsenault and Sebastien Arsenault.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Melvin (Mary) Arsenault, Gerry (Marie) Blacquiere, Blaine (Theresa) Blacquiere, Dawne (Trudy) Blacquiere, Liz (Jeff) Symes, Carla (Anne) Blacquiere and Rebecca (Bruce) Fast; as well as by her brothers and sisters in-law Joe (Bev) Gallant, Martin (Marie) Gallant, Cindy Breton, and Gina (Scott) Wakelin.

She is predeceased by her parents Eva and Wilfred Blacquiere, sisters-in-law Elaine Yameen and Gail Saunders and brother-in-law Scott Gallant.

The family would like to thank everyone who provided care and comfort to Jeannette during her illness.

A memorial will be scheduled for the spring.
