The death occurred peacefully at Garden Home, Charlottetown, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, of Emeric George Walsh, formerly of Hope River, aged 90. 

He was the loving husband of the late Pauline Walsh (nee Gallant) of 54 years.  He was the son of the late Louis and Catherine Walsh (nee Murphy). 

Emeric was the father of Stephen (Chantal)Walsh, Catherine Walsh Crombie (Bruce), and George Walsh.  He was the proud Grampy of Amanda Crombie (John), Ashley Crombie (Greg), Dustin Crombie, Kelsey Walsh (Spencer), Brandon Walsh, Cody Veilleux, and Nathan Chanell-Walsh; as well as 7 great grandchildren. 

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings; Marion Myers (Gordon deceased), Leo Walsh (Betty deceased), Earl Walsh (Gloria); brothers-in-law Andy Hennessey, Mark Gallant (Margaret); sisters-in-law Faustina Simoneau (Paul deceased), Luetta Doiron (Greg deceased), Emmy Gagnon (Jim), Rosemary MacDonald (Bliss); special nephew Richard Walsh (Anne Marie); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Emeric was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Jack and Mary Grace Gallant (nee MacDonald); siblings Vernon (Mary), Stevie Walsh (Shirley), Marjorie Crawford (Alfred), Kathleen MacDonald (Lorne), Bernadette McQuaid (Ralph), Rose Hennessey; and brothers-in-law, Lawson (Gail) Gallant, Everett Gallant.

Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where a visitation will be held on Sunday February 22, 2026, from 4-7pm.  Funeral service will be at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:30am. Interment will be held later in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. 

The family would like to extend appreciation and thanks to the staff of Garden Home for the care Emeric received over the last 10 years of residence.
