The death occurred suddenly at his residence in Tignish on January 29,2026, of Daniel "Danny" James Richard. Born February 1, 1954 aged 71. Danny was the son of the late George and Elizabeth(Arsenault) Richard.

Danny will forever be missed by his chosen daughter Marci Wedge her partner Jonah and her two daughters Everly and Dani, who Danny loved with all his heart.

Lovingly remembered by his siblings Marge(Doug) Coakley,Toronto, Omer(Geraldine) St.Louis, Rose,Tignish, Sandra(Elmer) McRae,Halifax, also by In-laws Agnes, Carol, Liz,Judy, and Doug McKenna.

He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Danny was pre-deceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth, and brothers and sisters, Emile, Edna, May(Ken) Gavin, Reg, Jean(Angus) MacDonald, Bernie, Allan, Shirley ,Raymond(Anne), Kenneth and Wayne and brother-in-law Leigh Doucette.

Danny stepped into the role of father for Marci when she needed it most, eventually becoming a doting grandfather whose greatest joy was found in his rocking chair with his granddaughters. When he wasn’t with family, Danny could often be found on his motorbike or reflecting on his many years of dedicated service at Tignish Fisheries.
