It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Fran Doucette, age 83. The death occurred at Whisperwood Villa, Charlottetown, PE, in the early morning of January 19th, 2026.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ron Doucette, her parents, Bessie and Neil MacKinnon and her granddaughter Chantal Murnaghan.

She is survived by her children Rhonda Doucette, Karen Forrest, Lesa Doucette, Kevin Doucette; grandchildren Austin Murnaghan and Brodie Murnaghan; and son in law Wayne Forrest.

She was born in New Brunswick and she moved throughout Canada in her life before retiring in Prince Edward Island. She led an active life as a Mother, a nurse and a volunteer. She volunteered with St. John’s Ambulance, Girl Guides of Canada, Hospice PEI, and St. Vincent de Paul Society. She loved to cook, read, spend time with family and her passion was to travel. Her favorite trip was to Greece.

Resting at the Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Fran requested to have a private family visitation. Interment later in Stella Maris Cemetery, North Rustico.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in her memory.
