Gallant, Gerard Joseph December 29, 2025


The death occurred peacefully at Palliative Care at O'Leary Hospital on December 29th, surrounded by his loving family, of Gerard Joseph Gallant of St.Edward PEI aged 78.

Beloved husband of 56 years to Bernadette, he was born in St.Edward on July 11, 1947 to the late Josie Ben and Mary Anne (Chaisson) Gallant.

Dear father to Phelan (Colleen) of Ebbsfleet, Tracy (Peter)of Tyne Valley, Darcy (Crystal) of Ebbsfleet and Suella (Bruno) of Montrose.
Gerard was a loving grandfather to Sierra (Rowgan), Morgan (Ally), Nathan, Shailynn (Chandler), Dylan, Carson, Lexie and Eastan. Loving great-grandfather to Lainey, Lyndie, and Lydia.

Also left to mourn are his siblings, Edlow(Alice), Emile(Cathy) and Julie(Ronald). Also remembered by his in-laws, Henry(Phyllis), Stella(Philip), Peter(Susan), Theresa(Raymond) and Francis(Claudia), Ruth Gaudet, Shirley Boulet, Debbie Bathurst,and Alan Arsenault.

Gerard was predeceased by his parents Josie Ben and Mary Anne, brothers Joe and Johnny, and sisters Audrey, Evelyn, May, Anna, Mary and Donna Marie. He was also pre-deceased by his parents-in-laws Alphy and May Gaudet, brothers-in-law George, Leo and Pat , and sisters-in-law Dora and Rita.

Gerard was a very active person who enjoyed walking, biking, golfing, playing hockey and softball in his younger years. He loved playing cards, especially 45, playing horse shoesand washer toss, he loved singing and dancing(post dementia), pepsi and chocolates with "no nuts". Gerard loved his family unconditionally.

The family would like to thank the staff at the O'Leary Hospital for the wonderful care he received, as well as the staff from Island EMS. We would also like to thank the home care respite staff for the great care he received over the past year.
A special Thank You as well to his buddy Philip, who was so good to him in many ways.



Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home , 522 Thompson Rd, for visiting hours Friday, January 2nd,from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday , January 3rd, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road at 10:30 am.

Memorial donations to Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
