The death occurred suddenly at her late residence in Greenvale, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, of Joan Bernard (nee Spence) wife of the late James Bernard, of Greenvale, age 84.

She was the daughter of the late Honeywell and Catherine (Waye) Spence.

Joan was the loving mother of Kenny (Brenda), Cathy Parkman (Deryl); grandmother of Jodi (Jason), Kayla (Kelsey), Jorden, Kendra (Chris), Chantal (Olmo); and great-grandmother of seven.

Besides her husband and her parents, Joan was predeceased by her son, Dougie Bernard and sister, Connie Sabourin.

Funeral will be held at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation prior to service from 12 – 2:30pm. Interment in the Wheatley River Cemetery.
