The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, of Eileen Pettit (nee Peters), aged 89, wife of the late Thomas Pettit, of North Rustico.

Eileen was the loving mother of Karen Van Winkle (Tom), Danny (Janice), and will also be lovingly remembered by David Mainville. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniel Tyler (Rebecca), Devon (Josie), Tristan, Ryan and Jack; and great-grandmother of Madison and Olivia. She is also survived by her siblings-in-law, Michael Pettit (Frances), Joan Pettit, Patricia Pettit, Mary Dervan (John) and Mary Pettit; niece and nephews, Anne Marie, Michael and Drew; and numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland.

Besides her husband, Thomas, Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret Peters; sister, Fern Peters; and siblings-in-law, John Pettit, Martin Pettit, Annette Pettit, Francis Pettit, Edward Pettit and Paddy Pettit.

Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
